At the age of 19, a normal scholar would be in the first year of his college but Nischal Narayanam has become the youngest person to clear the Chartered Accountant (CA) examination. The 19 year-old Narayanam is also a renowned mathematical genius. Although he has cracked one of the most difficult exams in the country, he will have to wait for two more years to sign the balance sheets as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) doesn’t enroll members below 21 years of age.
Narayanam’s talent was first discovered by his mother Padmavathy when he was nine years old. “He was passionate about numbers and I was amazed at his skills” (source: The Hindu)
To hone his skills, Padmavathy sought out mentors from around the world. “He has mentors from across the world and is trained in methodologies of several countries in Mathematics and Memory,” she added. It seems like it’s the family of geniuses as the mother herself has a Ph.D in Sanskrit from Osmania University.
Being the youngest graduate in Osmania University Narayanam received his B. Com and M.Com degrees from the university.
He has to credit other titles as well including the youngest ‘Double Guinness World Record holder’ in the category of memory and the youngest World Memory Champion. Narayanam has made India proud as he was featured by National Geographic Channel as one of the ‘7 brilliant brains of the world’.
If that’s not enough, he has been invited as a special invitee and speaker at the Global Conference in Shanghai by Deloitte International, the audit firm where he did his articleship for CA.
