Every student aspiring to crack the big IIT JEE wonders what the success secrets of IIT JEE toppers are. Jithendar, is among the seven students from Andhra Pradesh, who made it to the top 10 ranks at national level under open category of IIT-Joint Entrance Examination. “Keep your cool. Study the subjects with interest and the rest will follow,” says Anumula Jithendar Reddy, who has topped the highly competitive IIT-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) 2010.
“I got to know the news (results of IIT-JEE) at 8 am. I was very happy and the joy of securing first rank was something … a different kind of feeling, which I cannot tell in words,” Jithendar Reddy. “The professors at IIT Bombay teach the subjects very well,” Jithendar said, adding he would like to do something big in the field of physics.
Jithendar, who attributed his success to his teachers and parents, told PTI, “I was confident of making it in the top 10. But with the support from my teachers and parents, who helped me a lot in my preparations, I got the first rank.” “It’s once in a lifetime moment,” Jithendar, who appeared the test from Madras Zone and got coaching from city-based Narayana Educational Institution said.
On the secret mantra to crack the IIT-Joint Entrance Examination, Jithendar Reddy said candidates who want to succeed should keep their interest in the subjects and the rest (rank) will follow. “Chemistry is the deciding factor for IIT-JEE. The reason for my getting Ist rank is that I got good marks in Maths and students should not ignore Maths. I used to study for six hours daily. I was playful till 10th standard, but it was only in 12th standard I started to really concentrate on IIT by focusing on three subjects Maths, Physics and Chemistry,” Jithendar Reddy, who hails from Warangal district pointed out.
Expressing happiness at the achievement of their son, A Ramchandra Reddy, who is a professor and his wife Shobha, who is a Primary School teacher, said Jithendar himself used to study and they never forced him. “We believed in God. Education is the only way to succeed in life and we invested in his (Jithendars) education,” they said. Jithendar is the first student to top IIT-JEE from Andhra Pradesh in the last 20 years, an official of Narayana Institute said.
